After Gabe's passing, his family visited Camp Sunshine, a sleepaway camp for those affected by pediatric cancer. Camp Sunshine is a place of love, healing, and understanding for those whose children are currently fighting cancer, as well as those who have lost a child to cancer.
But not every family has the resources or support to visit Camp Sunshine. While camp itself is free, travel to Maine can be expensive, especially in addition to medical bills. All money raised through Gabe's Gift events is used to provide transportation, lodging, and other support to Quad Cities families affected by pediatric cancer, so they can experience Camp Sunshine for themselves.
